Date and Time
When the device is turned on, the current date and time are displayed. User can use buttons 5, 6 and 7 to change the date and time.
After a measurement is completed, the displayed date and time are the data and time of the measurement.
Systolic blood pressure
The displayed value is the measured systolic blood pressure in mmHg.
An optimal systolic blood pressure is below 120 mmHg.
Diastolic blood pressure
The displayed value is the measured diastolic blood pressure in mmHg.
An optimal diastolic blood pressure is below 80 mmHg.
Pulse
The displayed value is the measured pulse in beats per minute.
The normal resting heart rate for adults (18 years and older) is 60-100 beats per minute.
Left setting button
If the user presses the left setting button in setting mode, the displayed value is reduced by 1.
If the user presses the left setting button in the data display mode, the display shows the previous measurement data immediately before the currently displayed measurement data.
Setting button
If the user press the setting button and hold for more than 2 seconds, the device switches to setting mode.
In setting mode, user can then setup or change the settings of year, month, day, hour, and minute. The user can also change the settings of default warning range for systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and pulse.
Right setting button
If the user presses the right setting button in setting mode, the displayed value is increased by 1.
If the user presses the right setting button in the data display mode, the display shows the next measurement data immediately after the currently displayed measurement data.
ON/OFF button
If the user presses the "ON/OFF" button while the device is turned off, the device is turned on and starts the self-test process. After the self-test in completed, the device is then ready for measurement.
If the user presses the "ON/OFF" button while the device is turned on, the device is turned off.
If the user presses the "ON/OFF" button while the device is performing a measurement, the measurement is stopped immediately and the cuff is immediately deflated to zero pressure. Afterward, the device is then turned off.
Measurement start button
If the user presses the "START" button while the device is turned off, the device is turned on and starts the self-test process. After the self-test in completed, the device is then ready for measurement.
If the user presses the "START" button while the device is already turned on, the device starts the measuring process by inflating the cuff.
Heart spectrum index I1
The number displayed is the number of heart arrhythmias that has been detected during the measurement.
Heart arrhythmias occur when the the electrical impulses that coordinate the heartbeats do not work properly, causing the heart to beat too fast, too slow or irregularly.
Heart spectrum index I2
The number displayed is the counted anusual vibrations generated by abnormal blood flow which was caused by the heart valves during the measurement.
When the heart beats and the heart valves do not fully close or prolapse, an abnormal vibration is generated by the abnormal blood flow.
Heart spectrum index I3
The number displayed is the counted unusual vibrations generated by abnormal blood flood in the coronary arteries during the measurement.
When the coronary arteries show a disorder or disease, unusual vibrations are detected when the blood flows through.
Data updated symbol
When this symbol flashes during the setting mode, it means that the changes of the setting have been saved in the memory.
When this symbol flashes in measurement mode, it means that the measurement data have been saved in the memory.
Measurement symbol
During the measurement, the heart shape symbol appears when the pulse is detected and flashes continuously until the measurement is completed.
Socket for the hose connector
To make the device ready for use, the user must insert the hose connector of the cuff into the socket before using the device fot the first time.
It is not necessary to disconnect the hose connector from the socket after the measurement is completed and the device is turned off. In fact, frequent insertion and removal of the hose connector is not recommended.

Cover of the battery box
Unter the vover is the battery box, in which four (4) LR6 AA 1,5V alkaline batteries is inserted.
Device pairing button
When the user uses the application for heart spectrum blood pressure measurement, the smartphone used for the application must be paired with the OSTAR HK-809 heart spectrum blood pressure monitor used.
When pairing the two devices, you must first press the device pairing button on the bottom of the OSTAR HK-809 heart spectrum blood pressure monitor so that this OSTAR device can be recognized by the application of the heart spectrum blood pressure measurement running on your smartphone.
